Welcome to Hingham
A gem of a town, the quintessential New England experience
Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and rich in colonial history, Hingham is an iconic town along the Boston Harbor. Close to anything you need, including a town square with plenty of shops, boutiques, and dining, or a shipyard district containing even more luxury options.
Arriving in 1633, the first Europeans quickly made friends with the local Native Americans, who taught them how to live off the land. Two years later, the first significant settlement formed when the people of Hingham, England, arrived. In the late 20th century, Hingham experienced growth in population and, with it, quality homes to occupy. Hingham built these homes to accommodate the rise while preserving plenty of open space to maintain the natural environment.
Today, Hingham is a peaceful, welcoming community connected by subway, ferry, or open roads to neighboring towns. Hingham focuses on keeping its rich history at the forefront of its mind as it looks toward the future.
